Engineering research has the greatest impact when it is shared broadly. Through mentorship, public engagement, and hands-on demonstrations, I work to make prosthetics, robotics, and human-centered engineering more accessible to students, families, and the broader community.

Mentorship

VTSI Mentorship

Vivien Thomas Scholars Initiative (VTSI)

Through the Vivien Thomas Scholars Initiative, I mentor undergraduate researchers pursuing independent research experiences in engineering and biomedical science. Mentorship focuses on technical skill development, scientific communication, and preparation for graduate study and research careers.

WISE Mentorship

WISE Research Mentorship

As part of the Whiting School of Engineering's WISE programs, I mentor high-school students participating in laboratory research experiences. Students gain exposure to prosthetics research, engineering design, experimental methods, and scientific problem solving.

NSF REU Mentorship

NSF REU Programs

I support undergraduate researchers participating in National Science Foundation Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) programs through project supervision, technical training, and research mentoring.

Community Outreach

Maryland Science Center

Maryland Science Center

I help develop and present interactive exhibits that introduce visitors to prosthetic technology, robotics, and human-centered engineering. These demonstrations provide hands-on opportunities for audiences of all ages to engage with current research.

Camp BMore

Camp BMore

Through Camp BMore, our team designs and fabricates customized prosthetic devices for children and families affected by cancer. This initiative combines engineering design with direct community impact and patient-centered problem solving.

Barclay School Tours

Barclay School STEM Tours

In partnership with the Whiting Institute for Science Education (WISE) outreach initiatives, I host laboratory tours and engineering demonstrations for local middle-school students, introducing them to prosthetics, robotics, and pathways into STEM careers.
